Roman shades are made of specific fabrics with a broad range of
privacy control. Different manufacturers use different types of
ranges to indicate their privacy level.
- Hunter Douglas uses a 0-5 rating system. 0 is no privacy and
5 is maximum privacy.
- Comfortex, Graber and Bali use a low, medium and high privacy rating system.
- Low - These fabrics lend a light, airy covering to windows,
screening bright light while allowing you to still enjoy the
view.
- Medium - These fabrics screen bright sunlight to varying
degrees and will protect your furnishings from the damaging
effects of sunlight. Deep colored fabrics provide some room
darkening, while lighter colors soften and diffuse light.
These fabrics provide a moderate degree of privacy at night,
although silhouettes of objects and movement within a lighted
room will be visible to some extent.
